ABOUT JESSICA

“Artist, prop-maker and jewellery designer Jessica de Lotz impressed on a recent visit to Vogue House. The extraordinarily creative creature disguises her Art Deco bijoux within antiques collected from flea markets and vintage fairs. So, in Jessica’s covert hands, a Thirties door bell deconstructs and unscrews to reveal a beautiful black diamond ring” - Vogue

Jessica was born in London in 1984 to a self-employed military bookseller and a dedicated mother of five. Spending weekends with her grandmother at car boot sales and antique fairs, Jessica developed an appreciation for aged objects and the stories of their owners, which has provided the inspiration and focus for much of her work. In 2008 Jessica completed a Jewellery Design degree at Central Saint Martins. During this time, she won the Brian Wood Memorial Travel scholarship, which led to her first bespoke jewellery commission for Margarita Wood, Brian’s wife. Having seen her degree collection, luxury design company Based Upon commissioned Jessica to create a collaborative tribute piece which re-interpreted a mother’s wedding ring. In 2009, Jessica was awarded the Coutts New Jeweller award, which promoted her work during London Jewellery Week. She has since exhibited her jewellery at Sotheby’s, Treasures and most recently, International Jewellery London at Earls Court.

2010 saw the launch of Jeweller for Life, a bespoke crest and monogram service created by Jessica and her graphic designer brother Benny. As well as being selected as a “Nexgem” in Professional Jeweller’s Hot 100 publication, Jessica’s narrative based jewellery collections are stocked in boutiques nationally and personal tribute commissions are available via direct contact with Jessica. All of her jewellery is lovingly made in England, largely by herself.
